Run Flat Tyres
Run flat tyres are a type of tyre that can be driven up to fifty miles at a fifty-mile-per-hour speed before they require replacement; this is because they have a reinforced sidewall that helps the car keep moving even after it is punctured. Having run-flat tyres can be very helpful, especially in an emergency.
Depending on the manufacturer, a run-flat tyre might be more expensive than a conventional tyre. The cost might be justified by the safety benefits, however. They provide increased stability and reduce the likelihood of understeering when a tyre loses air pressure.
The other main benefit of run-flat tyres is that they allow for continued driving once a tyre punctures; this is impossible with conventional tyres requiring immediate stopping; this can be dangerous, especially on busy roads.
